How do you store your bitcoin?
« on: May 03, 2014, 03:06:11 PM »
I've been keeping my bitcoin on my coinbase wallet, but I hear from certain folks that I should really transfer them to an offline wallet.

Where do you guys keep your coin?  Offline, online, paper wallet, qtwallet?

I also use Coinbase as well as some on the various exchanges.  For any larger amounts (that I almost never have), I have a MultiBit wallet.

Well, I haven't bought Bitcoin yet, but I plan to store it in Coinbase. If I end up buying a lot then I'll need suggestions on how to store it.

I think coinbase is a great option for storing some of your bitcoin. It may even be more safe than your offline wallet if you use 2FA.

Would you recommend Coinbase over all other alternatives?

I believe they are the best place to store bitcoin at this point.

Would Coinbase still be the best if I had a lot of Bitcoin?

The old adage says - "Don't keep all your eggs in one basket."  You really shouldn't put all your trust in one thing.  Coinbase is very reputable, but if a hacker got a hold of your wallet - it'd be a shame to lose it all in one fell swoop.
